Guide to online PF withdrawal

Employee Provident Fund (EPF)  is a saving scheme for employees managed by the government. Under this scheme, employees contribute a portion of their salary i.e. 12% of their basic pay every month and the same amount is also contributed by the employer. These contributions together form a corpus which can be completely withdrawn by the employee after retirement or when he/she is unemployed for more than 2 months.  EPF can also be partially withdrawn in certain circumstances and subject to few prescribed conditions.

The EPF organization has made the allocation of UAN (Universal Account Number) compulsory for all the employees covered under the Provident Fund Act. UAN is linked to the employee’s EPF account and there will be no need to apply for EPF transfer at the time of changing jobs. It has also made online PF withdrawal easy. You will also be able to check EPF withdrawal claim status.
